Hi everyone,
I apologise if this is something that has been discussed previously, I did a bit of research and could only find what seemed like a very complicated solution.
I'm running sound in a small theater production and the director needs to fire some lighting cues based on the running time of active cues in my Qlab session. Network/MIDI and other kinds of joint control are out of the question.
I would love to be able to set up a small screen with only the active cues section of Qlab. As far as I know that's not possible.

Is that something that might be doable in the future? Being a complete ignorant in software development, it seems like something that would not be that hard to do (I repeat, I know sound but not software so I might be very wrong here).

Thank you!

Hi Marc,

If you have a wireless (e.g. bluetooth) headphone, you can patch an output to it and add a sound cue that fires at a specific time to that output. You could run a recorded "Fire the X cue" sound message, so the lighting operator knows when to go (and what to do). We have used this approach at several venues where we couldn't plug into their system, and it has worked well (especially if you are ok with minimal human reaction lag).

Best, Vlad

QLab remote on an iPad will do this for you.
