Hi there Tiffany,

Welcome to the list!  (I’ve created a new thread for your question so it’s a little easier to follow, and doesn’t end up being lost under the other question about collaboration.)

I think to most effectively answer your question it might help to see what you’ve tried so far — I’d recommend emailing a copy of your workspace (only the QLab workspace; not video files necessary) to sup...@figure53.com with a description of what you’re hoping to have happen, and they can see what adjustments will get you there.

Cheers,
Chris

I am very new to QLab so this may be a silly question - BUT

I have a video Loop Cue that I need to crossfade out of and into another video cue. How do I do this...I have tried many things that I think are right and when I try to execute them they won't do the crossfade.

I have all of my cues in groups so that the previous cue will stop with the execution of the next cue.

Thanks for any help!

Thank you!

Here is what I am trying to do...

I am trying to go from the GrassLoop.mov file to the Moonfall.mov file and I want the GrassLoop.mov file to fade out and the Moon file to come up when I hit the space bar.

Now what happens is when I hit the space bar the GrassLoop video bumps out and the MoonFall file comes up.

I think what you are seeing is the Moonfall.mov file "pop in" over the Grassloop.mov file.  One way to get the effect you're after is to set the Opacity of Moonfall.mov to 0% and then a Fade cue immediately after that cue that sets the Opacity to 100%.  That should achieve the crossfade you are after.  In general, if you want to crossfade between 2 cues, you need a fade cue to fade out the one cue (which you had in your list already) and a cue to fade up the second cue which needs to come after the second video cue, i.e. you can't have a fade cue that targets a cue that isn't running yet.

Hope that was sort of clear and that you find it helpful.
