Hi there,

I use the Fade & stop option often as it is much more streamlined than adding in multiple fade cues. I've experimented with the options: all, peers, group, but what I'm looking for is a method to fade the cue that is alongside it. Or should I say 1 above it.

This way I could have a background track audio cue playing, then launch into a slide show of video cues which would fade out the last slide as you go along.

I know I could kind of get round this by grouping all my cues into groups but I wanted to keep the show in the 1 list

Thanks

Why would putting your slide show in a group mean that you didn't have the show in 1 list?

I get bogged down with multiple groups in my list, prefer to have just a straight list.

I don't suppose it's possible to have a audio/video cue trigger a script at the same time?

Thanks again

Auto-continue.  :-)

Yes that is the best way to trigger multiple cues at the same time, I am just looking at minimising my lists as they're getting huge. Wondering if you could attached a script to that cue instead. So maybe, there is a script listening for any video cue and would execute automatically. I come from a coding background so I cannot help but think in a if = then kinda mindset. I think I might trying to reinvent the wheel a bit! Thanks anyway

You can make the two cues that are attached to each other via auto-continue look like one simple cue via… groups!  :-)  (Or put them both in a start all group.)

I of course am teasing a little, since I know you said you prefer not to use groups, but to me it sounds very much like a description of exactly why QLab has these mechanisms.

Yeah fair enough, as I say, trying to re-invent the wheel. Cheers!

Not only does the group structure allow you to use 'fade peers' but it also means you can fade out the slide show with a fade cue at any point, which you wouldn't be able to do with a linear structure.

Perhaps it's worth mentioning the shortcuts "⇧<" & "⇧>" that hide and reveal the contents of those very useful groups very quickly. And of course, becuase it's all I do these days, you could put them in a script that you can call on by q number from some other device.
