Hiyah,

So I have an installation running of 9 Mac Mini's, each connected to a
projector, running a video loop. The machines power themselves down each
night and start-up each morning and run a little script to open the Qlab
workspace and Go on the cue in the cue-list. Quite often, and not
consistently the mouse pointer is failing to hide itself when the video cue
is played, so am having to send someone around every day with a mouse to
click to get the pointer to disappear. Is there anything I can do to ensure
the pointer is hidden?

cheers
g

Hi Gareth and all,

Cursorcerer is a utility that will do that for ya. All you have to do is to tell it to hide the cursor after 1sec of inactivity.
Its got a good price too; free.

Hello,

Thanks for the tip Salvadore. Unfortunately Cursorceror doesn't seem to work when there isn't a mouse and keyboard plugged in, or rather when the mouse hasn't been moved from it's boot up position. I geuss that doesn't work for the same reason that QLab's method doesn't work either.

Is there a way to do this using Applescript I wonder, or perhaps a way to virtually wiggle the mouse such that QLab or Cursorceror's method to hide the mouse do work?

Which leads onto my next post...

For moving, have a look at:

http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=2008051406323031

If you download the binary you can "do shell script" to run it.

I found this for hiding:

http://macscripter.net/viewtopic.php?id=26354

I can get "call method "setHiddenUntilMouseMoves:" of class "NSCursor" with parameter 1 " to work in my own application when it is frontmost, but I can't do much with it in QLab...

Hey,

here is an app you could try. And toggle the cursor with a script cue.

Best regards,
Luka

Thanks everyone for replies.

Could i place a feature request for a future incarnation of QLab?
When playing video fullscreen with a single display (the current scenario when the mouse pointer hides itself, but doesn't if a mouse isn't connected): To change the pointer shape to a one pixel dot.

many thanks,
G
