Hello,

What's the easiest way to make a cue that, for example, nudges the current value of selected.intensity up by 1?

If there's an obvious cookbook page I've missed, feel free to send me there.

I've got a rotary encoder block that can output like a scroll wheel, so if I can make a cue that is selected.intensity +1 and another that is selected.intensity -1 I've then got something that will work like the encoders on most lighting desks (as in it just nudges current values, won't suddenly jump to whatever value it was left on).

Then I can have a block that is R, G, B, Pan, Tilt, Houselights, etc.

Cheers,

Robert

If you go to Settings - Light and the Light dashboard MIDI tab you can there set MIDI messages to control various parameters; this includes a "selected" option (so the control will target the selected channel intensity). There is also a Capture (midi learn) facility

It is not possible to incrementally change ("nudge") a value.
I don't think this would even be possible with a script, as there is not a getLight command, without a lot of string processing to which AppleScript is not suited.
If you need this level of functionality then it would be better to consider an actual lighting desk.

Thanks. Glad I'm not missing something obvious.

For most things that will work. It's rare I'm going to need a resolution of more than 7-bit (my eyes aren't that good!) and the encoders I have do MIDI feedback, so that's fine.

It would be great to be able to get some precision on a 16-bit pan-tilt though, and this seems the easiest way to do that.
