Hi!

As the text fields in Qlab are not formatted, it would be great if pasted text would be pasted as plain, unformatted text.

When copying Text cues from the script, some formatting was transferred, which led to annoyances because it could not be edited out later. This is unnecessary.

Command-option-shift-V is the macOS system-wide shortcut for “paste without formatting.”

I know that. But not everyone does. Catching user-made errors early is usually a good strategy.

Good morning Jörg,

I’m curious to make sure I’m understanding — you were copying text from a script inside a Script cue?

And what field were you pasting in to?

I’m interested to understand what the workflow was in this case.

Thanks,
C

I may be wrong, but I think Joerg meant a pdf of a play text when referring to a script.

What I don't understand, though is Joerg's Observation that  "the text fields in Qlab are not formatted"

Both the notes field of every cue type and the text field of a Text Cue can contain formatted text.

If you copy formatted text from a document (or even a web page) and paste it into a QLab notes or text field, the format will be copied unless you Paste and Match Style, as Sam suggested.
