For a show, we have the light que's and audio on separate computers.
What is the most reliable method of having them fire at the same time?

The`solution that's already built into QLab is to use Network Cues.

Assuming your two QLab machines are on the same LAN: On one QLab machine (say, the Audio machine) create a Network Patch in settings that points to your Lighting machine. Then, you create a series of network cues (on the audio machine) to trigger the lighting cues on the other machine.
