Hello

Currently having problems with some Matrox Triple Head 2 Go cards so have made the switch to X4's.

We need to output a resolution of 3840x800 from our Mac Pro and it looks like this might not be possible over DVI, even using Dual Link adapters - is this correct?  We were having trouble getting this to work with Single Link adapters, the Mac did not like forcing these higher resolutions and bricked up whenever we tried it.

So, if I can't run a resolution that high over DVI, how can I get a round this?  The specs of the X4 look to me like it will handle this resolution, and it has a DVI input connector - so presumably there is a way?!

Thanks in advance!

Is 1920 x 1600 in a 2x2 config an option?

Hi Darren,

The X4 can work with resolutions higher than you're trying to achieve as long as the pixel clock doesn't go beyond 330MHz and your graphics card has sufficient memory to support it. In our experience you need a dual link capable DVI connector, Dual Link cable and a Graphics card that supports lower clock speeds if applicable.

What spec of mac and GPU are you trying this with?
