Is the PC a laptop? I have seen some PC laptops where the USB ports seemed
to have differing amounts of power available to certain ports. For example
I have a little Netbook that only one of its three ports is able to power my
little travel hard drive properly.
Also if you have a USB hub and the MIDI interface is plugged into that, I
would make sure to only use a powered MIDI hub.
Is the UNO one of those little line lump style MIDI interfaces where it's
almost like a set of cables with a lump in the middle? I've found those to
be less reliable overall and it wouldn't surprise me if the input buffer on
them is small and is easily being overloaded by the amount of data from a
MTC stream. Obviously it should work, but not all MIDI interfaces seem to
be created equal. I would look into one of the MIDISport interfaces
instead.
Also have you tried to run MIDI Ox on the PC? See if you can use that to
look at the incoming MIDI data stream on the PC, without using the Hog
software. That would help troubleshoot if it's a MIDI interface issue or
some communication issue between the interface and the hog software.
Lastly I assume you've checked things like cables and such? Making sure all
MID and USB cables are I good order.
Those are just the off the cuff things I could think of.
