Hello!

We just purchased a Mac and installed Qlab 5 for our middle school theater program. For our shows, we intend to simply aux in to our sound system for playing sounds.

However, we don't have a great setup for this in our facility until we actually have our show weekend, so I'd love to be able to play wirelessly until then.

Is it possible to play my cues through the sound system that way, or am I limited to aux to achieve this. I promise - I did search, but couldn't find the right way of phrasing this to locate if this has been answered before. I saw a lot about python scripting to change scenes/parameters, but nothing about just simply passing the audio through.

Thanks for any assistance!

Hi Josh

As far as I'm aware there isn't a network audio standard that allows for wireless transmission of audio. I'd recommend using something like this Bluetooth Receiver patched in directly at the TF. The device I linked is pretty cheap and works amazingly well for that price -- I've deployed a few of them in classrooms across our district and the calls that I get about them are generally that someone can't figure out how to pair them.

Hope this helps!
PJ

The TF Rack to my knowledge does not have the ability to accept audio over network, unless you have the Dante card installed, and Dante does not want to go over WiFi (Can't guarantee latency).  So short answer I believe is no.
