to QLab
I am working on a project with three different BLE MIDI devices that I can have show up in QLab as MIDI devices via Audio MIDI Setup. I want device one to "trigger" a cue that makes a piano sound, device 2 to "trigger" a drum sound etc.

I have three separate QLab files open that are set up to each receive GO from the 3 devices at ANY velocity.  So device 1 triggers QLab file 1, Device 2 triggers device 2. etc... They each play a unique sequence of MIDI notes that trigger the selected track in GarageBand.

Does anyone know how to have three tracks in GB with each one being triggered only by the proper BLE MIDI device. Right now only the selected track gets played.

I know I could just record a slew of MIDI notes and put them in a QLab sequence and trigger those but was trying to do true MIDI.

Why use three QLab workspaces? Why not just one workspace with three cue lists, using the MIDI message from each transmitter as the MIDI trigger for each cue list?

I know I could just record a slew of MIDI notes and put them in a QLab sequence and trigger those but was trying to do true MIDI.

FIrst of all, what’s the difference between a slew of MIDI notes and “true MIDI”?

Second, you could export your MIDI tracks from GarageBand as MIDI files and use the MIDI FIle cue to play them back in QLab.

GarageBand is definitely not designed for live playback whatsoever. I don’t know whether what you’re asking is possible, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not.

Is there a reason this needs to stay as midi?  typically I'd render midi stuff out as audio files and just play the audio files in Qlab for simplicity.

It’s per note.
