How do I turn off the feedback sound when an invalid key is pressed?

I've already turned off the feedback and volume notify sounds in system preferences.
Whenever a number key or the accent/tilde key is pressed when using Qlab, I get a mac "bad keypress" sound.
Why am I getting feedback sounds when I've disabled them?

The problem occurs typically when trying to panic/escape out of a running cue and ~ is accidentally pressed.

Turn down alert volume fader on same page of sys pref

i guess you are using your built-in sound output and your alert sounds are also going to your main sound system. yes you can turn the alert volume down in the system preferences, however one of the advantages of using an external audio interface is that you can point all alert sounds to your built-in audio, which minimises the possibility of unwanted system sounds going to your house sound system...
