Lighting loops?

I wanted to make some effects today as I was a venue with conventional lights only and want to do a "strobe" look. My solution was to put a couple light cues in a group and loop them and stop them when done. There feels like there is a smarter way to do this, as right now I have to "STOP" them when I fire another light cue so it doesn't keep looping.
