Hello, I would like to control Qlab with a clicker but in Key map I would need the Playhead option previous and next, how could I map all three options? Go, previous and next in the clicker?
Thanks

That rather depends how many buttons your clicker has and if they can be remapped. What model is your clicker?

You need the logipresentation software. This will enable you to assign two  custom keypresses  for each of the 2 arrow buttons on the remote. i.e 4 functions from 2 buttons Forward, Back, Forward Hold, and Back Hold.

You can then capture these custom keystrokes in the QLab keymap.

If you want to make composite QLab actions e.g on press back arrow, stop a  cue list, thenmove playhead back 1 cue,  then go;  create a timeline group with OSC cues for each of the required actions,  and capture the custom Keystroke set  for the back arrow button as the trigger for the timeline group.

I would switch off all controls associated with the top button pointer and mouse  controls, as you are unlikely to find a use for them with QLab.

You either have to have timeline mode set in your cue template for group cues, or you can follow that OSC with another cue

/cue/selected/mode 3

There was an error in my previous posts. Mode numbers were not changed when the order of modes in the inspector changed. Mode 3 is Timeline (used to be 'fire all children simultaneously' which was option 3 in QLab3 inspector)

Hi again.
I don't get it.
I don't know where I have to write the Osc commands. Creating an Osc cue, typing the command in Osc controls?
Thank you

I may have misunderstood your question, but I thought you were asking for an OSC message that would create a  group.

/new group

As the custom message in a network cue with the default settings  will do this. As will sending this message from any other device on your network to the IP address of the mac running QLab on port 53000.

Hi!!!! It's me. I have explained myself badly. I need to control Qlab with the clicker, I only have two buttons, one that slides forwards and one that slides backwards. Currently I have a show in which I play slides with photos and videos in Powerpoint. Now I want to redo the show in Qlab but the speaker still wants to use the clicker. I just need to be able to control Qlab as if it were a powerpoint. Going forwards and backwards through the Qlab cues. I don't know how I can patch the two buttons in Qlab so that it allows me to do what I want. Summarizing. I need a Go button and a Goback button. Thank you.

OK, so we are still discussing the clicker.

Here's a workspace that has the timeline groups to control images in a powerpoint style triggered by a Logitech presentation remote programmed to use and Page down for next slide and Page Up for Previous slide

Your video cues with either images or videos go in the group cue numbered present. Leave everything else as it is.

All your cues should be set to bottom layer and Fade and Stop peers over time 1 or any other time you want for the crossfade.

Attached is a screen recording of it in action and the workspace

I get it. I don't know if is the way to do it but i get it. I must hold the button on the latch for a second to make it go forward or backward, is this normal? would it be possible for the cue to play when pressed as is normally done in a powerpoint?

HiJose

Select the group cue numbered PREV
In the trigger tab click the field next to hotkey trigger so the cursor is next to the ⇞ symbol

Screen Shot 2022-05-11 at 08.07.58.png
Give the clicker button you want to use for Back a SHORT press.
The trigger will change to whatever character your clicker sends for short press.

Repeat for cue numbered NEXT

If when you assign a new trigger you may find you get a yellow warning telling you that key is already in use. If that is the case you will need to assign a different key in the logitech software for short press and capture that. Each button can send 2 keystrokes 1 on short press and 1 for long. You should be able to assign custom keys for each one.
