OK - quick question.  I've been using my x32 on the road for the past 5 months as an audio interface.  For some reason today, the audio is playing out of my MBP (only channels 1 and 2 are playing out of my left and right speaker, respectively).  The X-32 (X-USB) appears as the Audio Output Patch.  Any thoughts?  I've restarted several times, tried different USB cables, and looked at all of my settings on both hardware and software side.  What would cause Q-Lab to play from my speakers instead of the x32 channels?

peace,

Hi Michael,

When you say the X-32 is appearing as the audio output patch, what specifically do you mean? The patch on a specific cue, or the patch in the workspace settings?

(If it shows up in the settings it may not be actually in use by any of the cues.)

Chris,

I had them selected for each specific cue.  I got it working now.  My solution was to create an aggregate device with the x32 + my MBP speakers.  It worked fine there.  Then I was able to change the settings back.  It seemed like qLab was not responding to my changing the audio output patch under "Device & Levels" tab.  It also crashed qLab one time.  I sent the report.

And now it's doing it again.  Is there anything else that would cause qLab to play from my laptop speakers instead of the audio interface?  When I unplug the cable, the audio device disappears (X-USB).  When I plug the cable back in, it re-appears however it seems that qLab is not responding to my output device selection.  Thoughts?

Here is a screenshot of my audio routing.  I tried using Logic and was able to successfully route my audio to different outputs via the same USB connection.  That should eliminate the issue back to qLab (I think?).  When I start the cue, triggers all of the audio cues, but I can only hear the click (which I typically route to channel one of the USB) and the bass guitar (that gets routed to channel two).  It seems that qLab is selecting my Built In Output instead of my Audio Interface.  I changed the buffer setting (from 512 to 256) with no change.  Thoughts?  Is it a bug?

Ah ha!

This screenshot has solved it.

You have your audition window open. The audition window overrides the cue’s audio output with whatever you have selected in the audition window.
