Hi all -

I'm trying to create a seamless playlist for top of show, intermission and end of show.  I'd like to just start one cue and stop it when I head into the show, then pick up there at intermission....is this possible? I have a playlist on my iTunes, but don't know where to go from there.

Thanks!
Elizabeth

The best thing to do is put it in a separate cue list which you can
start and stop from your main cue list.

Assuming you have a pro audio license, a few directions you could go:

Re: Less programming but no flexibility

1. Capture your intunes playlist via something like sound flower or burn a
CD & then rip it as one file.

Then, as Andy has pointed out, put it in a second cue list. Give yourself
a start cue that targets the new "itunes audio sequence."

Then you should be able to do a fade & then a pause in your main cue list
that targets the "itunes audio sequence" before the show starts.

Then at intermission, unpause & fade back in,

etc...

Re: more programming but lots of flexibility

2. drag all your audio files into Qlab (in the order they were in Itunes)
on a second cue list, auto continue them / auto follow to link them
together & instead of targeting the "itunes audio sequence like before,
you'll target that cue list itself. Then it will fade out whatever is
playing at the time you trigger the fade & pause it (don't have the fade
stop the cue). This route would allow for you to move things around in the
sequence. It also means that you could overlap songs, adjust the time
between them, etc...
