Hey all!

I'm working on a project where I've designed an installation that is run by Qlab. Qlab is running the videos, sounds and lights. Client has an existing Helvar DALI system in the exhibition space and they would like to have an option to turn on everything from the same existing control surface.

There is a line of DALI signal already coming to the space the installation is located. What would be the best way to convert a DALI signal to something Qlab would understand?

Person who has set up the existing DALI system, suggested Robot Electronics ds1242, that could be controlled with DALI and that could send commands in TCP.

We should be able to have four commands:
1. lights on (for cleaning)
2. lights off (for cleaning)
3. installation on
4. installation off

Thanks a lot!

Found a work around. Dali is now controlling NO relays that are closing a connection on Teensy LC, that is programmed to work as a keyboard. So it’s solved.
