I had a playback issue with my "A" machine on my last show so I moved it
to the "C" position & have kept an eye on it. I never saw the same issue
again nor the error codes but it got me thinking...."these HDs are from
end of 2008"
The machine that hiccuped was also the machine with PT 8 on it. I was able
today to get PT 8 working on a PC so now both Mac Books can be just Qlab
machines & nothing else!
Maybe now is the time to go SSD.
The current drives are the stock 120gig drives (probably 5400 rpm).
The only thing that will be on the Macs is Qlab (ignorable in size), the
stock OSX (less than 10 gig) & our show files which are around 1.5 gig
worth of data.
Considering the price, it would be nice to get away with a 40gig drive but
if that is just plain stupid, where you do see the sweat spot?
40 gig SSD @ OWC = $100
60 gig = $150
120 gig = $250
240 gig = $530
etc...

Thanks in advance.
