I apologize for probably not using the correct terminology, but I will try to describe what I mean as best as possible.

When you hit GO on a cue, it jumps to ready the next cue (highlights the next cue in the list automatically).

What I would like to do is keep the same cue that is actively playing selected/highlighted so that I can watch the waveform, then when it finished playing jump to highlight the next cue (but not play it obviously, until the GO button is pressed).

I have my client hitting GO on a qlab remote on ipad, but currently to monitor the wave form I need to go back to highlight the currently playing track to monitor the wave form (to anticipate volume adjustments, we have all sorts of weird tracks and levels are all over the place) and then sometimes I forget to highlight the next song manually after I've gone back to monitor the waveform on the currently playing track.

So hopefully I'm explaining this adequately. I want the track to play when the client hits GO on the remote, but then stay highlighted so I can watch the wave form, then when the track finishes playing, to move to highlight the next track, so it is ready for the client to just hit GO again.

Is this possible to setup?

Thanks for reading.

Lock Playhead.jpg

Deselect Lock Playhead to selection and you can look at whatever cues you want without affecting the cue that will go next.

That will work. Also that is super useful to know about. Thank you.

Sorry if this seems like it should be obvious, but I'm having trouble finding a solution in my searches. With this option selected, how can I move the playhead to a selected cue? Am I forced to use command shift arrow to move the playhead one at a time to the desired cue?

Thanks.

Have you tried the Goto cue?

It’s a bit hidden so this is a good question!

A couple of ways to set the playhead:

- click on the far left of the cue row, where the playhead icon appears

- select a cue and press “L” to load it

Using the mouse, click in the status column of the cue (the space to the left of the cue icon.)

Using the keyboard, type command shift J and then type the number of the cue you want to go to, then hit enter.
