What is it you want to control, and what controls on the LS9 do you
want to be the controller?

Mac

Hello,
i want one of the ls9 Userdefind keys to be the "go function" of qlab
another one should be stop.
That´s probably it, Userdefindkey → Go and Stop.

Might I suggest that you locate the STOP user key as far away from the GO
as possible. It's easy in a dark theater to push the wrong button when
they are side by side.

In my case, my midi stop requires pushing the STOP button & OPTION at the
same time.

Hi Thomas.

I'm not positive, but I believe that Yamaha removed the ability to
fire individual Midi note ons from the LS9 UDK's.
I'm sitting in front of one all day today; I'll report in when I get
to the theatre.

Cheers!

Hi,
i will directly drive to a hire company near me to check this out to.
Perhaps you could have a lock which software version is on.
Thank you

Software version is irrelevant, that's one of the price
differentiations between the M7CL and LS9 vs the DM- and PM- products.
What you'll need to do is assign an unused function that does transmit
MIDI to the UD key (and make sure that the console is set to send MIDI
CC messages). A lot of guys use extra mute group on/off as those MIDI
triggers. In that case, you'll need to set the value in QLab (after
you capture the message) to 128, so that it accepts both an on and an
off as a valid trigger. Also beware, then, that the LED on the UD key
will alternate on and off with each button push (you may want to tape
over it if that will be distracting to you/your op).

Hope this helps,
Andy

Andy; neat workaround, I didn't think of that!
