Hi,

when I modify or replace a file which is already in a sequence, Qlab doesn't update it. Even if I replace it in the sequence, it keeps the original file. I have to delete the cue and create a new one.

I think there is a way to do it more easily.. Someone could tell me ?

It 's Mac version

Hello.

What do you mean by “modify or replace” a file? I know for audio files, if I make changes to the source file and save, the cues play the new version.

Hi there,

What version of QLab are you using?

Hello - in 5.3.3 (OS 13.6.3), when we edit and save an audio file, the QLab waveform view doesn't refresh. Audio playback does reflect the changes, but the displayed waveform is true to the earlier version of the file; a new cue also exhibits the old waveform. This persists up until QLab is quit and restarted (even closing/reopening the workspace doesn't bring a refresh). This can get confusing when the waveform shows silence but sound comes out! Was the issue you saw Jean?

Vaguely related, in the same version, replacing an audio file target with a longer audio file still retains the previous shorter duration, so the longer file will be cut off. There was discussion here in November, was there any outcome?

thanks, and best

M

Hello,
Thank you all, I use QLab 4.7 OS 14.

Max, files do not update to new sound or display level, even I quit and restart Qlab.
Thinking about it, maybe it could come from the update of my OS 13 to 14 Sonoma ?

thank you and happy new year to evreryone

Hello Jean-Sébastien

QLab 4 is not supported on macOS Sonoma (macOS 14) so I do not recommend updating your Mac unless you’re prepared to also upgrade to QLab 5.

Best

QLab 5 is a paid upgrade. You can trade in your QLab 4 license for an upgrade discount.

I just posted about this issue in Qlab 5.3.9 and 5.4.1.

Using a work flow where I'm logged in as a user to a show Qlab rig I can drop files in the Qlab audio files folder and use 'replace as' to replace the original file. I've been doing this since Qlab 3 as a way to redo mixes/edits in the background during tech.  This worked in Qlab 4, waveform summaries and file lengths were updated but in Qlab 5 not only are waveform summaries and file lengths not updated Qlab will now arbitrarily occasionally create an file end time on the cue, resulting in only a small amount of the cue being played back. This seems to happen randomly,

There isn't a way to deal with media other than targeting files when logged into a workspace, is there?
