Hi,

I noticed when clicking the go buttons whilst in the middle of playing and Audio Cue, it continues to play the previous cue

Is it possible to set it up so that the current Audio cue stops playing?

I would like to achieve the same with Video cues

Thanks

Hi there,

You can use a stop cue to stop a previously playing cue.  Alternately, for a smoother transition, you might want to use a fade cue to fade out the previous cue, and the “stop target when done” option on the fade cue to then stop the previous cue.

So, the cues might look like this:

1 - my music cue

2 - fade and stop “my music cue”, auto-continue to
3 - my second music cue

Pressing GO on (2) would begin the fade and stop on (1) as well as begin playing (3).

Thanks Chris. I got that working

Is there a way to set it so that it automatically cuts out when another cue starts? The reason I ask this is, I am constantly changing the order of my cues, and creating a bespoke 'stop' cue after each one would get time-consuming...

QLab allows you to layer cues on top of each other, so it doesn't have a way to tell if you're done with a cue. An explicit Stop or Fade cue will be necessary.

I'm not sure I really understand why you would use Qlab in situations where you specifically want the behaviours of Powerpoint, Keynote or iTunes.

But……..

Attached is a simple workspace that allows you to do just that, (sort of).

You can  add, delete and reorder cues  in the list , but they must be simple Audio, Video, Titles, Camera or Microphone cues without any groups, auto follows or auto continues.

You can play them in order, or select any cue and play it , but you must use the SPACE BAR to GO. The GO is disabled while a fade is running.

Fade Times are set in the post wait of the TIME cue . SPACE BAR is deselected from Key Controls in settings and is used as a custom  key trigger for a cue which does all the work. Video crossfades between cues,  audio starts and fades the previous cue.

There are probably some ways to break it, but it seems to work quite well.

I have bunged in some royalty free stuff in the bundle to demo it.

And needless to say there was a fairly major flaw! I had used a disarm to stop a cue being triggered while a fade was in progress. Because you can't intercept the ESC Key,  if you escaped while the  main script cue was disarmed, the timer to rearm was stopped and that was that!

I have now used ' If cue x is running is false….. then go again',    instead of a disarm. So you still can't go when a fade is running but if you use ESC all is well.

There was also a problem trying to target fades to cues that can't have them which I think I have now fixed.

No problem I hope you find it useful.

I have just made a few final tweaks. So, use the version  attached.
