Ah, right, it’s time to break out my annual post :-D

To the best of our knowledge, based on our preliminary testing, QLab 3 works fine on 10.12. Generally speaking, though, we strongly advise waiting until the .2 version of any new OS release if at all possible for any show critical computers. Historically, Apple’s .0 releases tend to be fairly buggy, so it’s important to wait for them to fix the bugs that inevitably pop up when the OS is first widely released.

(Think back just a year ago to the slew of audio driver issues that took a few updates from both Apple and manufacturers to straighten out.)

QLab 2 remains incompatible with 10.11 or 10.12; it is only supported on 10.5.8-10.10.5.

We have had a single anecdotal report of trouble relating to video in 10.12, but it’s thus far unsubstantiated, and may be something completely unrelated to the OS update.

If anybody does run QLab on 10.12.0, and does run into trouble, please email us at sup...@figure53.com with as much detail as possible so that we can investigate.

But, again, if at all possible, give Apple a few updates to smooth out the finish.

Best always,

-Andy

Although not directly qlab-related here's some more info as to interfaces and plugins

We've now received a few reports of problems with video playback in Sierra, so please consider it not yet compatible until we post otherwise.

there may be a several other apps causing my problems but it was all functioning fine before the update to Seirra,

my first big problem is OSC communication with another qlab workspace on another Mac through an ethernet cord completely stopped working.
Ive been trying figure out the problem but I cannot figure it out. I use the connection to automate lights so hopefully i can resolve it soon otherwise Ill need to figure another work around

I also found that the panic seems to take much longer to fully reset, this may have something to do with the fact my workspace has 5,000 cues but it still wasnt a problem before the update.

finally when loading a workspace there use to be a small bar showing how much has loaded, I lost that, not a huge deal but but when your workspace is as large as the one i use it really helps.

everything else seems to work just fine

Hi John,

None further at this time. Aside from Kevin’s earlier post I don’t believe we have much in the way of reports of problems, fwiw.

Hello everybody,

I get some importants problems reading audiofiles ( glitches, drops) when using a brand new Mac mIni ( 16 Go Ram) with Sierra pre installed. the audio files are on a built in 1To SSD drive. and Qlab version is the latest.3.1.24

Everything works fine on my Macbook Pro with El Capitan.

My Qlab session is only 800cues, mainly audio files connected to a RME MADIFACE ( latest driver ) with 48 tracks ( 24b/48Khz) running simultaneously .

Any idea to fix it ?   Sierra compatibility ?

Thanks

Erick

to be precise

The new Mac mini has been bought to this only fonction: works with Qlab. in a theatre. ( I bought 2 identicals, one for spare, same problems on the 2nd)
there's no other soft installed on it, but  the TOTAL MIX RME sound card AUDIOCONTROL. and Apple stuff of course.

The trouble with saying “latest driver” is that it’s always possible for an update to come out without you knowing, or for you to send the email on one day, and for RME to release an update the following day.

According to RME’s support forums, the latest driver is version 2.19_2, and the latest version of TotalMx FX is 1.35. Are those the versions you’re using?

Best

Sam
