the only way to do it is to preview on a screen which is 16x9 (and to my mind one of the exact resolution you are projecting at)

or to be able to set the screen you are using to program on to the resolution you're going to project at in System Preferences  (and then let the display possibly stretch what you're looking at, but at least you know you're seeing the same pixels outputted)

Hi everyone.

I've been running qLab for audio for years and am expanding to show images in a multidisciplinary show.

I'm trying to do a 16x9 output to a 16x9 ratio screen,
is there a way to change the screen size in qLab
so that you can see the whole projection as you build cues?
i.e. so you don't have be using a projector or TV to build?

I'm trying to have a 16x9 image as a background with lots of layers popping in and out.

I can make the 16x9 as an image with custom geometry, but I can't get the full screen to show with the 16x9 ratio.
I can scale the bottom image, but when I move to projector
all of the other layers are out of place (there's a lot).

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ann

It's worth remembering that most computer monitors and non domestic projectors are actually 16:10

Andrea Cremaschi's Syphon Virtual Screen in conjunction with  Syphon recorder by Tom Butterworth and Anton Marini. will let you create a  virtual 16:9 screen  which appears in your Qlab workspace as a normal screen. It also means that you can program a show without a second monitor attached.

It's quite easy to use.  Just search the Qlab google group for all the info.
