Hey There,

I'm searching for a lighting console for our municipal PAC and community theater that can be controlled by Q-lab.

The Chamsys QuickQ 10 is about the right price point, but I'm not sure if it's network port can accept commands - they describe it being used for Artnet, but no mention of remote control.

The QuickQ 20 includes a Midi Port, which I suppose would work.

Then, I read that the MagicQ consoles support OSC.  OSC is attractive as I've already got some familiarity interfacing with an X32 audio console for mic mutes and other audio cues.

Has anyone had success using Q-lab to control a standalone lighting console, and if so, what are you using?  Any comments on the models above?

Thank you!

Hello Peter,

The QuickQ10 can activate and release 10 playbacks via OSC or active and release 3 playbacks via UDP Ethernet.
The QuickQ20 is a little more robust being able to remote trigger playbacks and executer items via OSC. As you stated as well it has Midi in and out.
QuickQ30 is the same function as the 20.

MagicQ is where you take a big step up. My favorite right now is the MagicQ Compact Connect. The MagicQ MQ50 is a great small desk that does have OSC.

Feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions regarding ChamSys.
Jason
