A composer has given me a set of .wav's and command file that he wrote
in QLab V1.??. This seems to save the document as a .qlab file.

I'm running 2.28 and can't seem to open the command file. Whenever I
try to save a new cue list I've created it tries to save it as a .cues
file. Is there an incompatibility problem between the two file types
and can it be resolved? I've tried just changing the extension but
that didn't resolve the issue.

Cheers,

Pete.

Hi Pete,

QLab version 2 can't read version 1 workspace files. The program was
rewritten substantially and there was not a way to translate the
workspaces from version 1 into version 2 and guarantee they'd behave
in the same way.

You'll need to either rebuild the workspace in version 2, or, probably
the best option, is simply run the workspace as built in version 1.
Version 1 is available for download from our site:

http://figure53.com/qlab/download/

It is no longer free, but you can convert version 2 licenses into
version 1. (The link for this is also on the download page.)

Best,
Chris

Download v1 from the website. You cannot run v1 files in v2
