Hi lovely community and F53,

I am about to embark on a bit of video design journey including a remote actor (a couple of rooms away, definitely within 3G-SDI range) being projected on stage, reacting/interacting with onstage performers;

For this, my current thinking, based on a modest budget, is to do the following:

- remote actor with a cam with 3G-SDI in remote room; they have an SDI monitor for the feedback from the onstage action with them also.
- remote actor cam via 3G-SDI cable to M1 Mac Studio via Blackmagic 3G Recorder as camera input
- some glitchiness added via overlays/filters in some part
- output onto onstage TV screen (tech tbc; if I am lucky, I find something with 3G-SDI input, and could use a Blackmagic 3G monitor to get there, but there is a chance it would be HDMI
- then a 3G SDI cam trained onto stage, cabled back to the monitor in the remote room (no processing necessary).

The play is rather faced paced exchanges, and I am very aware that some 3G-SDI introduce 2-4 frames latency, plus then of course processing in QLab and pathway to screen;

Any advice on trusted (but affordable) brands? Obviously it only needs to be a fixed cam in that room, so in theory nothing fancy, but at the same time I want to get my hands on it fairly quickly if I can to trial it all out...

At the moment poised to push the trigger on something like this https://amzn.asia/d/h0Glo1J
with a price of ca 280 USD, and do 1080p60 via 3G-SDI ...

Any experiences with cheap but acceptable options? (does not need to be PTZ by any means, or sport 4K etc... this was just available and nice with the 10x optical zoom for later).

And of course totally aware of the magic triangle between cheap, fast, good... but year, thanks so much for any advice :)!

Cheers,
Freddy
