Hey guys,

first of all, brilliant list, I am learning so much here :)...

my issue is the following, I have some audio cues that I have prepared in Cubase SX 3 - they have an intro part, and a loop part. I have made it absolutely precise, fading and all, and when I pre-listen the loop part in Cubase, it works without any hassles. after exporting it and setting the loop up (to the millisecond exact) in QLab (2.2.5, on MBP 17" unibody MacOSX 10.6.1, w/ M-Audio Profire610), it clicks quite audibly just before looping. Also, the "action" timer in the cue list freezes for a second on "00:00:01" (as I see remaining), but that wouldn't phase me, as I've learned recently here, that the updating of the visuals in the cue list is (understandibly) not the first priority.

Guaranteed sync is off. Inspector is off. Track is about 4 minutes, 16bit stereo PCM wav interleaved.

I have tested two different loop with the same result. Known bug? Hardware Issue?

Cheers guys,

Freddy

Setting a loop with only a millisecond precision may not be enough,
depending on the material. There are 44 samples every ms in CD-
standard audio. You may have to try and set your loop points with
more precision. I'm not sure if you can do that within QLab directly,
or if you'd need to script it.

Also- you may try opening the file in something like Peak and look at
the audio file. Last time I used wave files from a PC (SoundForge),
it stored a lot of garbage in the wave file itself- markers, waveform
overviews, etc.

Granted, that was a long time ago. But maybe Cubase is storing extra
stuff in the file that QLab is interpreting as audio.

I ran into a similar issue, try using the wave form to reset your loop points at zero crossings, which gives you the full 1/600th second precision that Quicktime offers, and will make for better loops.  Keep in mind that (correct me if I'm wrong) only the first channel of the file appears here, so you will be unable to set the 2nd channel of the file to work if they have different zero crossings.
Good luck

Correction Provided As Requested: All the channels of the file are
drawn in the waveform view.

Hi Freddy,

For setting up the loop in side the file, I'd second what Jeremy said,
which is to take a look at the crossings where your loop points are to
double check that they do in fact appear to be on a zero crossing.

Also, while it is different from the issue you are describing, there
is a known limitation when looping the entire file, which is described
in this ticket:

Best,
Chris

How is that accomplished? In the waveform overview there is a single
channel displayed. Is this a mix of all channels, just the peaks, or
what? For fine-tuning loop points it would be *great* to be able to
zoom into the sample level. When it looks like this zoomed all the
way in, it's hard to tell exactly what you're looking at:

A single waveform display, not a single channel.

The max and min values for all channels.
