I'm sure I've asked this before, but I can't remember the answer... sorry...

I want to set up pre-show music with a set of MP3s which will play and loop-all, but which can be faded and stopped regardless of where in the sequence

I made a Group cue, set to "Start first child and enter group" then put all the music MP3s inside it and set all but the last onel to Auto-Follow.

Then I put a Fade cue after the Group cue and set the Group cue itself as the target.

This works in that triggering the Group cue will start the first track and then locate to the Fade cue. All the tracks will play in sequence and then stop at the end, and the Fade works as expected.

What I can't make it do is go back and start playing the first track again when the last one ends, while staying inside the group and still leaving the Fade cue as next.

None of the other modes of the Group cue do the right thing.

Setting the last track Audio cue as auto-follow makes it jump over the Fade cue completely, which I don't understand at all.

I tried putting a GoTo cue at the end of the Group, with the first music cue as the target, but although it will relocate to there, it won't start it playing.

This seems like a common thing to want to do, but I can't work it out.

Please help, as I need to set this up for a show tonight.

Thanks! :)

Simon

PS. Using QLab 3.2.5

Use a start cue instead of a goto cue...

Hello Simon

Sebastian has it: a GoTo cue moves the playhead; a Start cue reaches out and starts a cue playing.

Actually, I think I just worked it out.

Use a Start Cue instead of a GoTo Cue, set to Do Not Continue, target as the first music Cue, and have all the music cues as auto-follow.

Yay.
