Is it possible to trigger other cues, from slices (or some equivalent) in an audio cue? In my research with timecode, this does not seem like something I should need to use, because I'm not making 2 devices talk to each other, just one device (computer with Qlab running). An example of what I'm doing would be playing a 10 minute track for a dance piece and having MSC cues fire at certain times in that track.

Check out the Devamp cue - it can allow you to trigger the following cue when playback reaches the end of a slice.

Alternatively, if the MSC cues fire on a fixed timeline, you can put it all into a "Start all children simultaneously" group cue, and use pre-waits to specify the timing relative to the start of the group.

But the Devamp cue is really cool if, say, you need to let an MSC cue be fired manually but ensure that it lines up with the next downbeat. Slices don't have to be set to repeat in order for the devamp cue to work this way.

Fire all children groups with msc cues and prewaits is how I do all my dances. If you specify which lighting cue number should be executed in each MSC cue (opposed to a generic GO), an added bonus is that you can usually load the group to a specific time and both the lights and sound will cue up to the same spot. Makes stop and go rehearsals a dream.

Hi all! Thanks for the responses. I must say I am much more interested in using devamp cues to trigger these MSC cues, so that I can just look at the waveform and pick out the parts I want. I've been working around with these devamp cues and I'm having trouble using more than once slice in a track. It seems that regardless of me putting multiple slices, all my devamp cues only watch that first slice. Is there some way to specifically target the other slices in the track?

The devamp will work on the current slice. If you load the cue to a time in the middle of another slice, the devamp will trigger from there.

This will sort of  do what you want, except it only works if you play the file from the beginning

Do cue every slice.cues
