Hello Lucas,

I think the question has been raised before and one solution was to embedd own Zoom licenses under the Special Feature function. But maybe there is news to that?

If I understand right from this article it is possible to choose data center options but the one where your account is provisioned:

"You will not be able to change or opt out of your default region, which will be locked. The default region is the region where a customer’s account is provisioned. For the majority of our customers, this is the United States."

So couldn't there be a workaround, that you would run a second set of licenses provisioned in Europe and thus be able to limit the use of data centers only to Europe? And we as host could simply choose our prefered data center in the setup of an event?

I have no idea what that would mean administration wise (maybe Qiqo becoming this large global internet company :) - but it would definitely a great asset for German/ EU data safety concerned contractors!

Of course embedding own zoom licenses is a great option, but it takes away some of the great advantages of Qiqo (quickly adding rooms which work and allow users to enter as hosts without any hassle).

Maybe some of us - your EU Power Users - could help you set up your European account?

What you think?

Greetings - Friedrich

Hello Friedrich,

Great suggestion.

Fortunately, our Zoom account is already provisioned in Germany.
You can show your clients this when you open Zoom and click the green button at the top left.  You will see eu01web in the link for the Zoom meeting.

Hello Lucas, that is great news!

Is it possible to disable then certain regions for the Zoom servers if the contractor wishes for that? I know it‘s possible in the backend options of Zoom. Would it be possible to connect that for the event options in Qiqo?

Or simply ask you when its specifically needed for specific events?

Thx already! Friedrich

Hello Friedrich,

Good news: Zoom now lets us choose the data centers for any specific meeting.  This is not yet something that's easy for us to do so the cost would be $200 for each Qiqo event, and we can complete it within three business days.  If more people want this functionality, we can prioritize it and make it editable in the Qiqo user interface so that you can change it at any time.

Thanks for asking the question.  I didn't know this functionality was available to Zoom partners like us through their API yet.

Hello Lucas,

that's great to hear and a really good feature we can promote to our clients. Thanks a lot for making it possible!

Greetings - Friedrich
