Dear all

I have started a meeting using the qiqochat link and the people that have joined through the web (not download zoom) can not join breakouts.

What to do?

Thanks

Ulrika

Hi Ulrika,

I've had to deal with this too. The solution is a bit of a work-around.

On the event RSVP page, in the right hand column below where people's icons show up when they have RSVPd, there is a button "call-in info for all breakouts". Click that button and it will send you the Zoom links for all of the breakout rooms.

Send those details to all participants by email.

They then need to copy and paste those links into their web browser to open the zoom rooms for the breakouts.

Maybe there is an easier work-around, but this is what worked for us.

Rachel

Thanks!

I invited using the link to the meeting from the toolbox. So I dont think they will arrive at that page?

Thanks for providing that quick response, Rachel.

Rachel, there's one more option in your situation -- people can go to each breakout space/room on Qiqo and then click "Help".  That has the Zoom link to join by the web for that Qiqo breakout space/room.

For Ulrika, she was holding her meeting from her personal meeting space on Qiqo (everyone has one at https://tools.qiqochat.com ) which only has one Zoom meeting rather than all the breakout spaces of a full Qiqo event.  From what I read about joining Zoom from the Web here, you can move them to breakouts but they cannot choose a breakout.  At the bottom of Ulrika's page, if someone clicks "Computer" says this:
If you cannot download Zoom, you can also open Zoom in the browser here however users on Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer will have to also call in by phone.

I hope everyone is doing well.  I spent some time away from the computer in August and am excited for many new updates coming to Qiqo circles (written conversation, news stream, gardens/cafe/lounge, etc) and also turning the current user guide into something much more in-depth for Qiqo admins at all levels of experience.

Thanks for the answer.

I could move them and I saw that they were assigned to a breakout room. But it said the had not joined. And for them there was no possiblity to do anything else than stay in the main room. I tried to make them co-host, didn't help.

I am happy to hear that you did spend some time away from the computer Lucas! You really deserve that!

All the best to everyone
Ulrika

Just for my own clarity. Did you use Qiqo breakouts or Zoom breakouts only?

Hi Thomas,

Ulrika was using one Zoom meeting without any Qiqo spaces/rooms.  This meeting is called your "personal meeting room" on Qiqo and is available for each user to have one of their own at https://tools.qiqochat.com where you can get the link to your own room.  It's something like https://qiqochat.com/meet/MY_USERNAME

In the near future, I'd like to change how this works and enable any user that has a Zoom Pro account to connect it to their page.  This would let you send people to your own link, display any photo/background you like, and connect it to your own Zoom account.  Maybe there are some other Qiqo tools that can be integrated there such as easy notes pages.
