Hi All,

Before today, MS Teams would open in a new link and then in the app.  You would have 2 browser tabs open (the other would be for Qiqo) plus the app and that would have been hard for participants.  As of today, you can do all this now from one Qiqo browser tab + the MS Teams app.  It feels similar to how Qiqo integrates with Zoom, but you will be prompted to log into MS Teams (that's normal with MS Teams).

Create up to 100 MS Teams meetings and then paste all the links into QiqoChat on your edit-event page.  Each MS Teams link will be assigned to a different breakout space on Qiqo.  When someone clicks "Join Video" then the correct MS Teams link will launch.

You can test it out in this QiqoChat event.  Sign in with te...@qiqochat.com and a password of "test".  Then go to Breakout Space 3 and click the join-video button.  (screenshot attached)

Might this be easier than the other way people are talking about with creating "channels" in MS Teams?

Please email me if you'd like this feature turned on for your account.  It's the same feature that lets you use your own custom Zoom links for some of your Qiqo breakout spaces.

Hi Lucas - and everyone,
Sounds great!

I wonder if Qiqo with Teams could be an alternative to Zoom when clients say a definitive no to Zoom.

Did any of you have this kind of conversation with a client?

Does Qiqo meet the security requirements that the IT dept is looking for?
I am talking to a big bank and I wonder how to handle the no Zoom policy.

Have a good day
Christine

Hello Christine,

We have had several job fairs where some of the companies were banks.  Some banks permit their employees to use QiqoChat and others do not; some permit their employees to use Google Docs and some do not.

Fortunately Qiqo doesn't require any software to be downloaded other than Zoom.  Some big organizations like the European Commission, UNHCR, NASA and federal agencies in Germany have used Qiqo.

We would be happy to speak with the IT department if they have any questions.

To answer your other question, very few organizations have used Qiqo with Microsoft Teams, but it is definitely possible.  It would launch MS Teams as a separate app just like Qiqo launches Zoom.  You would need the "Special Features" section at the bottom of the edit-event page -- anyone can ask for that.  I've turned it on for your account.

Please feel free to send any additional questions.

Hi Lucas

I was just trying to start the Teams video but only my Teams app opened, no video screen. Haven never used Teams within Qiqo but can see possible opportunities in the future. Is there an error in the setup now?

Cheers

Thomas

Hello Thomas,

I think that I needed to update the demo by putting in a new Microsoft Teams meeting link.  It's possible that the meeting had expired.

Please try now.  Here is the link in case anyone else wants to try it.  I find that signing into Microsoft Teams for the first time takes a long time, but I think that it doesn't take a long time for people that use it in their organization every day.

Please feel free to send any additional questions and feedback.

OK, now it works immediately for me (as I am logged into my Teams account) – the video window opens in Teams – with a message that “other people will be noticed that I am waiting when the meeting starts” – so it seems I am in the waiting room.

Thanks
