Strategic Priorities, Invitation to QiqoCON on 5 August, and recent updates

QiqoCON on 5 August

If you have not yet received an invitation to QiqoCON on 5 August, here is the link to register.  

This is an event for people who want to learn more about how to make the most out of Qiqo.  There will be interactive discussion sessions where you can exchange ideas with each other, a networking session, presentations by people who have done some innovative events on the platform, and some hands-on workshops. Over 120 people are registered.  We hope to see you there if you're not on holiday!

Recent Updates

Lots of new updates have gone into the platform in recent weeks.

• new menu system in all circles
• new homepage with two videos to explain what Qiqo is all about
• translation of the event page instructions in 19 languages (we are adding the instructions for pages in the circles soon)
• improvements to the top-left of the event pages where the join-video buttons are
• a new landing page format for events (you can see this on the QiqoCON registration link above)
• RocketChat is the tool we use in the live events for 1-1 messaging.  You can now add unlimited RocketChat channels to any Qiqo Circle where you are an admin.  Go to the homepage of the circle and add /chat to the end.
• Better formatting of the resource library in each circle

There are many other features that we have built for Qiqo event admins and community organizers but we have not yet documented.  QiqoCON is causing us to do the important work organizing it all so that you can know all of your options when you design events.

Strategic Priorities

We've seen you host many great online events in the past year.  Now we're working on improving the circles so that they can help keep your communities engaged between your live events.  I believe it's possible for groups to maintain momentum using several tools:

• 1-1 chat messaging
• calendar of live events where anyone can create a Qiqo event at any time -- similar to the concept of Open Space but 24/7 and any day of the year
• discussion forum / email list -- we did a lot of work to integrate an open source discussion forum, but it ended up having too many features that Qiqo users won't need; so we're redesigning Qiqo written conversations to be a better discussion forum
