Friends,
I love this time of year. Such a feeling of renewal - cleaning out
the old and giving us a chance to make changes.
One thing I have decided to get serious about is organizing -
streamlining my life so I can quit wasting time and get a lot of the
clutter.
The second project on my plate is writing - more newsletters and those
books I keep threatening to write.
I was at the health club a couple times this week. Boy, was it
crowded there. January is a time for lots of new years changes.
Which brings me to the reason for this mailing.
The next qigong class starts Jan 14th - that is Wednesday nights at
6:30 - 8:15 for 7 weeks.
Qigong is just a wonderful thing to add to your life. Especially in
these trying times. I consider qigong to be my antidote to the
mishigosh(craziness) of life. With all that craziness to distract you
and keep you in fear and attachment, you need some sort of practice to
keep you whole and help you focus on the important things in life.
Qigong is just such a practice. Meditating and moving at the same
time. The meditative aspects help to bring wholeness by connecting
the mind and spirit and the movements bring the body into play also
making it the best body/mind/spirit practice I know of.
In the class you will learn Soaring Crane Qigong. Also during the
class we go into various health topics - usually following the lead of
the students based on their interests. This makes every class
different so former students are encouraged to return.
If you are interested in joining, call the clinic at
541-753-5152 to
register.
The prices are:
$100 for first timers or the first person in a household coming ($50
goes to a book and 2 DVDs)
$50 for returning students or other person(s) in household.
Free - the first night for those just wanting to try it out
Free - the last 1/2 hour of class for returners to practice the form
with a group
The classes are held at the UUFC at 2945 NW Circle Blvd. in Corvallis
What I have noticed about my health club is the new year rush starts
slowing down soon and by March or so, things are back to normal. So
you have to grab the change now while you are moved or you will settle
into your routine and miss another chance.
Hope to see you in class. Qigong is truly a wonderful thing. I am
sure you will be glad you brought it into your life.
Dean
