Commercial Shen

This entry is some discourse concerning commercial Shen work, and has

some general interest.

As there are many production ready ANN packages, both OS and

commercial: Why would any customer(s) buy the ANN package(s) that I

have been making?

The Shen programmable type system is a good innovation.  Therefore,

software written in Shen is good for security critical and money

critical applications.

Moreover, it is known that the bare backpropagation is technically

suboptimal.  Exemplaris gratis it will not always converge well.

I'm making ANN packages with very modern improvements and developments

to the basic, bare backpropagation, such as the Lopes-Ribeira

multibackpropagation.  These algorithms are demonstrably better.

Consequently, the customer(s) might purchase the ANN packages that I'm

making, because they are demonstrably technically better than the

competition, and are not expensive.

And this is nontrivial experience for the many persons who are into

commercial work with Shen.
