In DeSantis TZ. et al, 2006, greengenes is chimera-checked, does it mean that we do not need to do chimeric sequences filtering when using qiime to analysis?

Hi Jia,
It means the sequences in greengene are cleaned from chimeras, but you may have chimera in your reads (primarily from PCR). This is usually the problem people worry when coming to chimeras.
