Everyone,

We have a 10 node cluster running Centos 6.5, SLURM for job scheduler and Bright Computing for management.  Our common location for applications is at /apps/shared/ which is mapped to a central location available to all nodes.

We already have R installed, Python 2.7.9 and other software packages along with their respective modules.

I followed some guideline on installing QIIME on Centos, but upon running the sanity check, I seem to have over 18 errors due to faulty dependencies.

Does anyone here have any clear instructions or can provide some guidelines on how to install QIIME and all its dependencies on an HPC running SLURM and CENTOS 6.5 ?

Also, is it recommended to create a module to load the variable for ALL the dependencies at once, including QIIME ?  I would really like to know what others have done to install this application in similar environments.

Your help/comment will be greatly appreciated !

Thank you.

Hello Carlos,

I have deployed qiime on a CentOS cluster with great success using miniconda and the bioconda repository. This is going to be the default way to deploy qiime in the future, and you can see our working tutorial for this process here:

Let me know how that works for you!
