How to rename sample names in otu_table.biom

Hi,

I named the sampleIDs with 001, 002..n like that in the mapping file and now want to give a meaningful name in order to make it easier to visualize things in the analysis.

I like to know how to rename for example 001 to PATIENT_DIABETES_AGE25_1 in the otu_table.biom file. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Convert biom to txt format, change the sample names in txt file and convert back to biom file using biom convert command.
