The heat of summer is finally here, and with it, the wildflower season has quietly faded. Still, I’ve noticed a few stray wild sunflowers holding on, bravely blooming. I gathered a handful and turned them into this still life painting. These sunflowers are nothing like the ones I usually pick up at the grocery store—they’re fragile, yet brimming with life.
