Dear Members,
We are sharing a new tutorial published on the QGIS India User Group website titled “Private & Replicable Field Data Collection with QGIS and QField.”
In this tutorial, Sudarshan Bhoyar demonstrates how to set up an offline field data collection workflow using QField and QGIS.
The tutorial walks through preparing a QGIS project for field use, configuring layers for data collection, packaging the project using the QFieldSync plugin, creating basemaps and defining an area of interest, transferring the packaged project to a mobile device, collecting data in the field, and synchronizing edits back to the desktop project once fieldwork is complete.
This approach enables reliable offline field data collection while ensuring complete data sovereignty and eliminating the need for cloud-based services.
