Dear Frnds,
My name is Aravinth Rajasekaran, I would like to contribute to outreach and capacity-building activities within the QGIS India community. As part of my work at the institute, I have worked with school teachers and students to impart GIS knowledge and promote spatial thinking through problem-based learning. The idea has been to help learners approach real-world problems spatially and explore solutions using geospatial tools.

Through these activities, I have gained experience in designing and conducting outreach programs for diverse audiences, including school students, educators, startups, and public-sector stakeholders. I would be happy to support QGIS India in any capacity—whether in initiating, organizing, or contributing to outreach and training activities.

If anyone is interested in collaborating on outreach initiatives, please feel free to reply here, and we can take this forward together.

Best regards,
Dr. Aravinth R

Hi Aravinth,

Conducting outreach and training programs is definitely valuable and many people in the user group would benefit from that. You can join the events team who has been planning and organizing events. You can work with them to organize training events. I'll connect you with them shortly on Telegram.

Hello Ujaval,

Regarding the translation work, would it be alright if I reach out to some of my colleagues (professors) working in different parts of the country? They may be able to contribute and support the effort.

This could also serve as an opportunity to initiate college-level QGIS chapters through collaborative participation. Please let me know if that would be appropriate.

Sure. That would be great. The more people who contribute - the better.
