QFS Tool concurrency error

When I am using the "ifs -put" command to place multiple fils on a QFS file system, I get write error (from the "qfs -put" command) at the moment when I do a "qfs -ls" from a different client to the same file system, and in fact the same directory that the "qfs -put" is writing to. The errors I get look something like what I list below, and then a write retry is scheduled. The timing of this error is exactly when the -ls occurs, and it is is consistently repeatable. 

Does anybody have any ideas what may be causing this?

I am using QFS v2.2.3 build for Stretch.
