Just a couple of items to mention from the volunteer's meeting Sunday night.
1.On EMS calls if no-one seems to be responding, wait until the 2nd page
before acknowledging the call. Then be sure to identify yourself on the
radio when doing the acknowledgement. this way, we can be sure that no-one
is actually going and that County knows who is on the radio. Actually,
anytime you are the radio, you should identify yourself. (FCC rules)
2.Training/meeting dates. Trustee mtg. is 5/12 at 7pm. Tues. training 5/13
at 7pm. Sat. 5/31 at 8am. June: vol. mtg. 6/1 at 7pm. Trustee 6/9 at 7.
Tues. trg. 6/10 at 7. Sat. 6/28, 8am. July: mtg. 7/6 at 7. district mtg.
7/14 at 7. Sat. trg. 7/12 at 8am. Tues. 7/22 at 7pm.
3. As you know, the Arno, Aaron, Mark M. and I atttended a a course in
vehicle extrication class over the course of 2 very complete weekends. 3
folks from the Alton FD also were there. Besides having a good time, we
actually learned a couple of things. Results... it's time to re-visit our
extrication practices and needs. Arno, Joel (and Mark?)are to talk with
our new truck people this week to discuss the progress and check on a
couple of other ideas that we have. Other than that, not a whole lot else
was mentioned. As always,be safe, be smart.
