Hello all,

Can anyone advise me on how to modify the Punch Indent example to model unloading? The example currently terminates at maximum loading and I would like to extend the simulation. I have tried to do this by redefining the proportional load schedule but to no success. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,
Grace Shan

Hi Grace,

You're on the right track with the proportional loading table. For example, consider this code:

proportional,,3,,0.,0.,1.,1.,2.,0.
dtime,,0.2
loop,load,10
   time
   ...
next,load

This will increase the prop factor from 0.0 to 1.0 in the first five steps of the loop and then back down from 1.0 to 0.0 in the next five steps. Any displacements or force boundary conditions will be scaled by prop, so this corresponds to loading followed by unloading.

Hope that helps.
