Hi everyone,
I am wondering if there is such a function in R.

Roel suggested me checking out the subset function in fsQCA software to see which configurations are consistent subsets of the outcome (then I can potentially use those results to further simplify the solution).  He described "it is simply a function in the drop down menu. It calculates the subset consistencies for all combinations of the presence of the outcome." (then I can compare that to my solution and check if the configurations may be simplified).

Could anyone provide some information related to this function in R, please? Does R have a such function? If so, which function is it? If  you could provide some literature (how it works behind the scene and how I can run it in R), that would be even more wonderful.

Thank you in advance
Kind regards
Sarah

Hi Sarah,

Would superSubset() be the function you are looking for?
This searches exhaustively for all possible combinations of conditions, but it should be noted that not all surviving combinations are actual prime implicants.
A valid solution model is one whose terms are consistent with the presence of the outcome and (at the same time) not consistent with its inverse / absence / negation.

Not exactly sure how would one make use of the information from superSubset() to further simplify the solution models, though.

Best,
Adrian
