Dear all, dear Adrian,

Can we create a Fiss chart of a QCA solution with the QCA package? On stack overflow, I have found a pretty complicated way (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/63650354/how-to-generate-the-solution-table-of-an-fsqca-analysis-in-r), and I am wondering if this works. Do you see any alternative function for this?

Thanks for any advice on this matter!

Best wishes,
Anna

Hi Anna,

Creating Fiss charts is not easy, out of the box.
All examples I've seen look very much like manual, customised work, because solutions labels are different from one situation to another.

There is a semi-automatic solution written by Claude Rubinson, but that is not in R. We are thinking about a compatibility framework that would incorporate both R and external tools like Claude's, however this will take some time.

I'll try to think about a temporary solution for this high-demand feature, which will most likely involve some post-processing into another software like Inkscape, since the Fiss chart is essentially a figure (an image, to be more precise), and a vector format like SVG offers the possibility to further modify that image according to particular needs.

All the best,
Adrian

Hi all, about the Configurations figure/table many papers published a mixed of parcimonious and complete solution.

I'm a beginner um fsQCA but when I tried match/checked/traced back the core/peripheral variables in figure with that provide by the lines of which solution of each method and never got.

Best wishes

Edmundo

Dear Adrian,

Thank you for your quick reply and these explanations! I think, for now, I will stick to my custom-made Excel table. :)

All the best,
Anna
