Hi all,

This may be a silly question, but I haven't been able to pinpoint an answer in the 2012 book or other QCA articles: What are the numbers in the leftmost column of the truth table output connected to?

I see them in the book examples of truth tables for both crisp set QCA and fsQCA, and in my own fsQCA results, but am not clear on the purpose of these numbers on each row of the table. Any help would be appreciated.

Best,
Mercedes

Never mind, it was a silly question. I had sorted my truth table by inclusion scores, so i was getting a scramble of row numbers in the lefthand column. Apologies, all.

Perhaps this is worth mentioning, those row numbers are also used to construct the PI chart.
This has the prime implicants on the rows (the results of the minimization process) and the positive observed configurations on the columns.

These configurations are represented in the PI chart as their corresponding row numbers from the truth table. And the PI chart itself can be inspected from the minimization object, as the component $PIchart.

Hope this helps,
Adrian
