SQL Server DBA

Primary Responsibilities

*Assists in the design of data models and physical databases, data dictionaries and schemas

*Installs, upgrades and tests database software

*Assists in the development of database recovery plans and procedures

*Troubleshoots database issues

*Monitors database environment

Requirements

*Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or completion of a technical training program in software development programming language and ten years business experience

· Participate in the design, implementation and support of SQL databases and distributed systems in a client/server environment

· Provide technical leadership for SQL related initiatives, database administration and maintenance activities

· Participate in 24x7 on call support rotation

· Work with Developers/Users to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage

· Implementation and support of SQL Server Clustering

· Performance analysis related to database storage, CPU and Memory

· Installing, configuring and maintaining multiple MS SQL instances

· ETL processes such as SSIS packages

· Database reporting with tools such as SSRS

· Performance tuning and optimization of stored procedures, Transact SQL, and SQL queries

· Design, implementation and troubleshooting backup/recovery for SQL Server databases

· Disaster Recovery planning and execution for database restoration in alternate locations

· Understanding of SLQ Server database security and Active Directory integration

· Understanding of Microsoft Windows Server Technologies

Additional technical experience considered a plus:

· Experience in Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-v).

· Good understanding of TCP/IP and SAN Technologies

· X86 Server Hardware Technologies

· Database Monitoring Tools (Idera, Quest).
