Hi Jean,

I'd like to share with you (and QAP's users) a modification proposal for GUI of Live Folders.

Currently, when we select a "Live Folder", this opens a dynamic sub-menu whose first line is the folder itself, and lines below are its content (sub-folders, a/o documents)
This sub-menu opens without any need to click on the live folder, having the mouse on it being enough.

If we actually want to open explorer (or designed file manager) on the Live folder itself, we then have
1) to move the mouse to the first line of sub-menu,
2) then only click on it

Why couldn't we directly click on the Live folder in the main menu itself ? This would avoid to have to move the mouse before.... (more lazy than me.... ;-) )
We could even imagine in such a case to do not repeat the live folder itself in the sub-menu, but only its content... (and supress my previous enhancement request about Live Folder's icon in sub menu...)

This wouldn't be a big change, moreover I imagine it is easily feasible (otherwise, if complex, pls ignore my request !), but it would make (a little bit...) easier selection of Live folders.

What do you think about it ?

Regards
Laurent

This is not as easy as is sounds--nor would it be consistent with how menus work in Windows. According to Windows design guidelines, submenus are presented on-demand by clicking the menu item or hovering over it. So clicking is reserved for displaying the submenu. Moreover, all of this behavior is handled automatically by the operating system--so, altering this behavior would be difficult and a successful result would make QAP menus inconsistent with every other menu in Windows.

Hi,

As Scott said, because QAP is building its menus using standard Windows commands (instead of building it from scratch), what Laurent ask cannot be done. This is somehow related to the explanation given here for other suggestions about menus.

The only exception that was technically feasible is the "Shift + Click", "Ctrl + Click" (etc.) technique describe here. But this could not be applied to submenu entries. It works only on regular menu items.

But thanks for the suggestion anyway :-)
